Should I take body measurements or is weighing better?
Successful weight loss is so often better shown by the monitoring body measurements than by the typical weighing! This is due to the relatively high protein content in our Metabolic Balance nutrition plans where connective tissue and muscles are rebuilt in our body. Muscle weighs more than fat, but also has less volume – meaning it takes up less space than fat. So if 10 kg (22 lbs) fat was lost and 6 kg (13 lbs) muscle gained, only 4 kg (9 lbs) difference may be seen on the scale. But if we look at body measurements, we often see reductions of 10-15 cm (4-6″) which is 1-2 dress sizes!
