World Asthma Day

Did you know that today is World Asthma Day?

World Asthma Day (WAD) takes place each year on the first Tuesday in May. It was started by the Global Initiative for Asthma in 1998 to raise awareness and educate people about asthma.

Asthma is a chronic condition that affects the lungs and can vary in severity. In patients with asthma, their lungs and airways are inflamed making it difficult to move air in and out of the lungs.

During this global pandemic, those with asthma are at an even greater risk. For those with asthma it is important to eat a diet that helps minimize or reduce inflammation in the body. An optimized diet (i.e. Metabolic Balance!) full of whole foods, complete proteins, and free of artificial ingredients can do just that. For those of us without asthma let us make sure we offer support and care to those with this condition.
