Chewing Your Food

Chewing your food is so important. Our stomachs don’t have teeth! Chewing breaks down food into the right size pieces for easier digestion. It also ensures that your saliva can properly be mixed in with your food which means that the right enzymes are available for nutrients to be released and used by the body. Chewing carefully reduces the chances of over eating and can influence both appetite and weight because of this. Also chewing helps relieve digestive problems such as indigestion, bloating, nausea and acid reflux. So don’t gulp your food down! Chew it carefully and consciously while sitting down for a meal. Also look at your food when eating. It needs to be the most important thing you are doing at that time not scrolling on your phone or working at your desk! So start today with carefully chewing every mouthful. You’ll be impressed with the results!
