Today is Native American Heritage Day, a day for increasing awareness and education in our communities. It is important to engage in conversations to understand the systems of oppression that are part of the experiences of many people in our communities and learn how to be allies in generating necessary change. Native American Heritage Day

The entire month of November is Native American Heritage Month and today is the cumulation of this month with Native American Heritage Day. This day was established in 2009 by President Barack Obama to honor, recognize, and celebrate the cultural heritage and importance of Native Americans who are the first people of this nation.
