Carrots

Carrots are a versatile vegetable that are delicious when picked straight from farm.

Many people are used to only eating the root but the leaves or tops can also be used! They are great when added to a pesto or blended in a smoothie.

For a smoothie simply puree the tops of 3 large carrots with 1 3/4 cup water (~400 mL), 150 g of baby spinach, a peeled orange, half a mango, and a tablespoon of flaxseed oil together until smoothie. For a colder smoothie try adding a few ice cubes.

Summer Power Smoothie

On hot summer days, a cold smoothie is not only refreshing but also a great energy boost!

Ingredients: 
250 g carrot 
1 kiwi (or 1 apple)
1 tablespoon oil
Ice cubes or cold water

Preparation: 
Wash and peel the carrot and then cut into chunks. Peel the kiwi and put aside a slice for the garnish. Juice the carrot and kiwi with a juicer and pour into a blender. Add the oil and ice cubes and then blend until creamy. Cut the kiwi slice and fix it to the edge of the glass. Enjoy!

Tip: It is best to drink this smoothie with a meal or you can make it into a main meal by adding a protein source from your plan.

Mango Smoothie🥭

Yesterday we published a post about the delicious and nutritious mango!

Today we have a very simple, but absolutely refreshing recipe for you: a wonderful mango smoothie:

Take a serving of ripe mango and some fresh ginger and puree in blender until smooth. Pour the mixture into a glass, add some cold sparkling water, stir, and enjoy! The combination of spicy ginger and sweet mango creates a delicious and refreshing smoothie.

If you are not a fan of sparkling water, simply add enough tap water to the blender and mix until you achieve the desired consistency. For a colder drink you can also add ice cubes to the blender and puree until the ice cubes are incorporated.

Berry Milkshake

This berry milkshake is super simple, but absolutely delicious and refreshing.

Ingredients:
1 serving frozen berries
1 serving of milk (according to your plan)
Vanilla, ginger, lemon zest

Preparation:
Add your frozen berries and milk (according to your plan) to a blender and puree until smooth. For added flavor you can try adding vanilla, ginger, or lemon zest. Please remember not to mix berries – so choose one variety. From phase 3 on you can also try it with coconut milk.

Tip: If you don’t have frozen berries you can also use fresh berries and ice cubes for a cold drink.

Fresh Spring Smoothie

This fresh spring smoothie was developed by Metabolic Balance in collaboration with celebrity chef Jan-Philipp Cleusters.

Ingredients: (2 servings)
2 apples, cut into chunks
1 avocado, cut in chunks
2 thin slices of chili pepper
1 handful baby spinach
3 sprigs mint
1 3/4 cups (400 ml) coconut water
4 ice cubes

Preparation:
Put all ingredients except for the ice cubes into a blender and process until smooth. Add the ice cubes and blend until you reach the desired consistency. Divide the smoothie into two glasses and enjoy immediately!

The power couple ginger and turmeric stimulate the metabolism and help lose weight by aiding digestion and burning fat faster. Due to its high content of natural antioxidants, turmeric efficiently protects against wrinkles and premature skin aging.
Ingredients for 2:
1 mango, ripe, ready to eat, cut in chunks
1 chicory stick, ready to eat, cut in chunks
1 cube-sized piece of ginger, ready to eat
3 sprigs mint, ready to eat, plucked
1 tsp turmeric
150 ml water
2 ice cubes
Preparation:
Put all ingredients except the ice cubes one after one into a blender and puree to a fine smoothie. Add the ice cubes and mix until they dissolve. Distribute the Tropical Wonder smoothie into long drink glasses and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Preparation:
Put all ingredients except the ice cubes one by one into a blender and puree to a fine smoothie. Add the ice cubes and mix until they dissolve. Pour the Detox Power Smoothie in long glasses and serve immediately.
